Eight decades ago, a small seed was planted with one simple belief: every child deserves the light of education. Today, that seed has grown into a strong tree with roots deep in values and branches reaching across Goa and beyond. After a period of dormancy, we are happy to reconnect with you through this digital platform. This website will now serve as a window into the life of our school — our values, achievements, events, and the daily journey of our Theresians. For 80 years, St. Theresa’s has stood as a home of faith, learning, and service. Even during the quiet years, our commitment to nurturing young minds with love, discipline, and purpose never stopped. St.Theresa High School Sto.Estevam started in 1949 to cater to the educational needs and give an all round training to the youth. The School is in English medium comprising of Pre-Primary ,Primary and Secondary Section. In the year 1946 Fr.Faustino D’Souza ( Fr.Faustinho ) dispatched Mother Sr. Bertha ,Sr. Rosaria ,Sr. Celina and Sr. Agnes along with Pidhu ( helper ) to this beautiful island of Sto.Estevam with the intention of starting a School. In the initial stages the Sisters faced a lot of hardships for they resided at one place and held classes at different places. As the strength of the students increased and multiplied they purchased a place called ‘PERPETICHEM TOYEM’ where St. Francis Convent and St.Theresa High School stands today from 1949. The School is recognized by the Directorate of Education ,Government of Goa , and is owned and managed by Holy Family of Nazareth Educational Society which belong to the Christian religious minority group and therefore enjoys rights and privileges guaranteed by the Article 30(1) of the Constitution of India. It is registered under Society Registered twin Order No.156 dated 31-10-1966 in the office of Sub-Registrar ,Panjim under the Societies Registration Act ,1860.
St.Theresa High School , Sto-Estevam ,managed by the Sisters of Holy Family of Nazareth , animated and guided by the spirit of Holy Family and Founder Fr.Faustino D’Souza aim at integral formation and empowerment of human person to be an asset through formation of character, qualityeducation , competence , compassion to foster harmonious integration between religion and life , to understand the implications of economic policies and structures , political decisions and social dimension.

Jua - Santo .Estevam is indeed a God gifted piece of paradise .In the mid-40’s almost the entire population living in this scenic beautiful lush green island were involved in agriculture . No sooner the harvesting of the paddy crop was done immediately vegetables were planted in the fields . The lady fingers from Sto.Estevam were famous not only for their length and seven ridges locally known as Xath Xiramcho Bhenddo but also for their unique taste . Sto.Estevam used to provide vegetables to practically the whole of Ilhas and surrounding villages , thus it’s inhabitants earned the nickname “BHENDDEKARS”. The Contribution of the innumerable villagers and past pupils both material as well as moral and village Pastors through their Pastoral care is gratefully acknowledged and valued . Students planted as seeds in the garden of St. Theresa School, nurtured and cared with love , guidance and education along with moral values have blossomed into successful blooming plants yielding a good harvest. The school right from the start has rendered yeoman service playing a pivotal role in human formation and education of the young irrespective of caste and creed specially of this Green Island with selfless dedication , making positive contribution to the welfare of the society. The Theresians have made a mark for themselves not only in the state of Goa but in the world at large. |

We beseech you according to your promise , help priests, missionaries and the entire Church of Jesus Christ. O St.Theresa of the Child Jesus, Patroness of the Missions Pray for us. |
